When the Devil come for a Ride
At PetVilla, our Pet Taxi services usually involve chauffeuring adorable cats and dogs to the vet, airport, or even the occasional spa weekend while staying with us (yes, we’re that fancy!). But every now and then, the job takes a wild turn—literally! Picture this: one moment, you’re picking up a friendly pup from the vet, and the next, you’re carting around a bunch of Ring-Tailed Lemurs or, you know, a pair of Tasmanian Devils. No big deal, right?
The Day Lemurs Took Over Our Pet Taxi (And No, We Didn’t End Up in Madagascar)
Back in 2021, we got a call from an international pet transport agency with a request so unusual that we had to read it twice: “Can you pick up four Ring-Tailed Lemurs and a Spider Monkey?” Now, normally our passengers bark, meow, or sometimes purr—but these guys? They were more interested in swinging and climbing than curling up in a crate!
When we arrived at the airport to meet our passengers, the lemurs were sitting there (to be honest – there were obviously in sealed Crates), tails twitching like they were plotting a grand escape (or maybe just looking for snacks). If you’ve never had the pleasure of sharing a car ride with a lemur, let us fill you in: they love to stare. Hard. It’s like they’re judging your every turn, probably thinking, “This isn’t how they drive in Madagascar.”
Then there was the Spider Monkey, who seemed to think our Pet Taxi was an amusement park ride. As we drove, he tried to grab everything in sight—from our clipboard to our water bottle. Let’s just say it wasn’t your typical Tuesday. But once they were delivered safely to the zoo for their quarantine period, we could finally exhale (and laugh about how we just gave lemurs a tour of the Kapiti Coast).
Fast Forward to the Tasmanian Devils (No, They Don’t Spin Like in Cartoons… We Think)
Just recently, our Pet Taxi services were called upon once again for an exotic delivery – this time for two Tasmanian Devils. Now, if you’re picturing the whirlwind-spinning character from cartoons, don’t worry – we were too! But these guys were all business. In fact, they seemed to have a bit of a “don’t mess with me” vibe as we carefully transported them to their new home.
Tasmanian Devils are famous for their feisty nature, and let’s just say, we weren’t taking any chances. As we drove, it felt like we had a couple of very important (and slightly cranky) VIPs in the back seat. We’re pretty sure they spent the ride mentally reviewing our driving skills. Unlike the lemurs, there was no playful mischief with these two—just pure, cool attitude.
After delivering our devilish duo to their zoo, we couldn’t help but chuckle at how our job sometimes takes the wildest detours. One day it’s fluffy kittens, the next it’s animals straight out of a nature documentary. And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
More Than Just a Taxi—We’re a Wild Ride!
So, if you ever need your pets transported (whether they bark, meow, or have a tail longer than their body), Pet Villa’s Pet Taxi is always ready for the adventure. And who knows? Maybe next time we’ll pick up a kangaroo or a komodo dragon. With our track record, anything’s possible!
